MIDDLEBURY WOMEN'S LACROSSE
DEFEATS TRINITY
Middlebury, Vt. - Senior attacker Katie Simpson (Darien, Conn.) totaled a team-high seven points on two goals and five assists to lead the Middlebury College Panthers to an 18-4 win over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women’s lacrosse action this afternoon. Trinity, ranked No. 18 in the nation, falls to 8-5 overall and 3-4 in the NESCAC with its fifth loss in the last six games, while the Panthers, ranked No. 1 in New England and in the nation, improve to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in the league with their 44th consecutive victory.
Middlebury had little trouble with Trinity as the Panthers scored 16 first half goals en route to the win. Senior attacker Char Glessner (Ipswich, Mass.) and senior co-captain attacker Kristin Hanley (Seattle, Wash.) had four goals apiece, while sophomore attack Beatrice Gratry (Hunting Valley, Ohio) led Trinity with a pair of goals and an assist.
