KING LEADS COLBY TO WIN OVER
TRINITY WOMEN’S LACROSSE

 Gorham, Maine  – Senior Ally King (West Hartford, Conn.) notched three goals and three assists to lead the Colby College White Mules to a 12-9 victory over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women’s lacrosse action this afternoon at the University of Southern Maine.  Trinity, ranked No. 4 in New England and No. 12 in the nation, falls to 7-4 overall and 2-3 in the NESCAC with its fourth consecutive loss.  Colby improves to 7-3 overall and 2-3 in the league.

Colby scored the game’s final three points to break a 9-9 tie, and received stellar defensive efforts from senior goalie Anna Schierberl Scherr (Portsmouth, N.H.), who made 10 saves, and junior Becca Avrutin (Rye, N.H.), who held Trinity sophomore Beatrice Gratry (Hunting Valley, Ohio) without a point for the first time this season.  Senior co-captain midfielder Katie Bowman (Summit, N.J.) paced the Bantams with three goals and an assist, while classmate Laura Davis (Bethesda, Md.) and sophomore middie Tracy Nesbit (Wellesley, Mass.) found the net twice each.
