DAVIS LEADS TRINITY WOMEN'S
LACROSSE TO WIN AT TUFTS

Medford, Mass.- Junior attack Laura Davis (Bethesda, Md.) scored four goals to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 9-5 victory over the Tufts University Jumbos in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's lacrosse action this afternoon. The Bantams remained unbeaten at 6-0 with the victory, their fifth in the last six games against Tufts. The Jumbos lost for the first time, dropping to 3-1. It was the NESCAC opener for Tufts, while Trinity improved to 2-0 in the league.

The Jumbos struck first on a goal by sophomore Shamora Michelson (West Hartford, Conn.) just 43 seconds into the game. But Trinity answered with the next four goals to lead 4-1 after Davis' second tally at the 14:14 mark. The Bantams took a 5-2 lead into halftime.

Tufts again scored quickly to start the second half, with sophomore Lauren Peach's (Maplewood, N.J.) tally coming 55 seconds into the period to cut the margin to 5-3. Trinity answered strong again, with three straight goals including two by Davis to take an 8-3 advantage with 16 minutes to play in regulation. Jumbo sophomores Kristin Saldarelli (Needham, Mass.) and Willow Hagge (Portland, Maine) each scored their second goals of the game in the final 10 minutes, but it wasn't enough for the Jumbos. Senior tri-captain Kelly Jo Burnett (Pennington, NJ) made 12 saves to earn the win for Trinity. Junior Ari Kristan (South Windsor, CT) had four stops in the Tufts cage.
