TRINITY WOMEN’S LAX PUMMELS
PLYMOUTH STATE
Orlando, Fla. - Senior tri-captain goalkeeper Kelly Jo Burnett (Pennington, N.J.) made 12 saves and allowed just one goal in the second half to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 13-5 win over the Plymouth State College Panthers in women’s lacrosse action opener this afternoon at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex. Trinity improves to 2-0, while Plymouth State drops to 0-1.
Trinity opened up a two-point game in the second half, outscoring the Panthers, 7-1, over the final 30 minutes. Senior tri-captain attack Anna Sullivan (Brookline, Mass.) and freshman attack Beatrice Gratry (Hunting Valley, Ohio) scored four goals apiece for Trinity. Bantam junior attack Laura Davis (Bethesda, Md.) added two goals and senior tri-captain attack Ashley Taylor (Washington, D.C.) notched a goal and two assists. Sullivan also had two assists.
Sophomore midfielder Katie Sheridan (West Sayville, N.Y.) scored three times for Plymouth State, while Panther freshman Melissa Gravilla (Andover, N.H.) had 16 stops in goal.
