TRINITY WOMEN’S LAX WINS
AT CONNECTICUT COLLEGE
New London, Conn. - Freshman Beatrice Gratry (Hunting Valley, Ohio) netted five goals and added two assists as the Trinity College Bantams scored a 17-6 victory over the Connecticut College Camels in women’s lacrosse action. The Bantams picked up the victory in their first game of New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) play, and improved their overall record to 4-0. With the loss, Connecticut College slips to 2-2 overall and 0-2 in the league..
Trinity started strong in the rainy weather, taking a 9-3 halftime lead on three goals by Gratry. Senior co-captain Anna Sullivan (Brookline, Mass.) scored three times, while classmate and fellow captain Ashley Taylor (Washington, D.C.) chipped in two goals and three assists to help close out the Camels. Junior Katelyn Bowman (Summit, N.J.) and sophomore Elizabeth Walsh (North Kingstown, R.I.) each picked up a pair of scores for Trinity. Senior captain Kelly Jo Burnett (Pennington, N.J.) stopped eight shots, and sophomore Alexandra Benjamin (Weston, Mass.) stopped one.
Junior attack Caley Boyd (New Canaan, Conn.) scored twice for the Camels, while freshman goaltender Paige Diamond (Longmeadow, Mass.) played the entire game and picked up 13 saves.
