Sports update, women's lacrosse vs. Connecticut College, 4/4/00


CONN COLLEGE EDGES TRINITY IN WOMEN'S LACROSSE

Hartford, CT - Senior attacl Meghan Welch scored four goals to lead the
visiting Connecticut College Camels to a 6-4 win over the Trinity College
Bantams in New England Small College women's lacrosse action this afternoon.
Trinity falls to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the NESCAC while the Camels notched
their first victory of the year, improving to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in league
play. 
	Trinity was down 3-0 at one point in the game, but managed to battle
back and take the lead, 4-3, with 14 minutes left in the second half.
Connecticut proved to be too much in the end though, rallying to a 6-4
victory. 
	Camel goals were also added by Annie Peller (Northfield, MA) and
Anna Trafton (Topsham, ME). Goalkeeper Elayna Zachko (Saugus MA) made six
saves in net for the Camels.
	Junior midfielder Quinn Smith (Concord, MA) led the Bantam offensive
attack with two goals, while sophomore attack Ashley Taylor (Washington, DC)
and senior captain midfielder Jess Martin (Alexandria, VA) scored a goal
apiece.  Senior goaltender Kate Derosier (Longmeadow, MA) stopped seven
shots for the Bants.
