TRINITY WOMEN FALL TO WILLIAMS
IN HOME OPENER ON THE ICE
Hartford, Conn. - Junior forward Molly Wasserman (Minnetonka, Minn.) netted two goals to lead the visiting Williams College Ephs to a 5-1 win over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's ice hockey action this afternoon at Kingswood-Oxford Rink. Trinity falls to 0-3 overall and in the NESCAC with the loss in its home opener, while the Ephs improve to 2-1 overall and in the league.
Trinity senior tri-captain forward Katie Bowman (Summit, N.J.) opened the scoring two minutes into the first period, giving the Bantams an early 1-0 lead. Williams countered with five unanswered goals, including the go-ahead score by Wasserman with :17 remaining in the first period, en-route to a 5-1 victory. Trinity junior tri-captain Mimi MacKinnon (Glen Cove, N.Y.) made 40 saves in a valiant effort for the Bantams, and senior co-captain goalie Monelle Quevillon (Mascouche, Quebec) stopped 11 shots for Williams.
