TRINITY TOPS CORTLAND STATE
FOR SECOND STRAIGHT DAY ON THE ICE

 

West Hartford, Conn.- Junior tri-captain goalie Mimi MacKinnon (Glen Cove, N.Y.) turned away 28 out of 29 shots to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 3-1 win over the visiting Satte University at Cortland Red Dragons in its women’s ice hockey season finale at Kingswood-Oxford Rink this afternoon.  With the win, Trinity closes its with a 4-12-2 record, while handing Cortland its 14th loss against four wins and a tie. 

Cortland went up 1-0 on a power play goal by Melissa Manning (Syracuse, N.Y.) with 1:02 left in the first period.  Trinity countered 18 seconds later to head into the locker room tied 1-1 on a goal by freshman Jessica Keeley (Scituate, Mass.).  Classmate Tara Borawski (Simsbury, Conn.) supplied the game winner at 3:24 of the second period, on a goal assisted by sophomore Kristy Hadeka (Castleton, Vt.).  Hadeka then iced the game by notching her seventh goal of the season, unassisted, at 4:52 of the third period.
