BORAWSKI GOALS GIVE FIRST ICE HOCKEY
WIN TO TRINITY AND COACH MCPHEE
Hartford, Conn.- Freshman forward Tara Borawski (Simsbury, Conn.) scored both of her team's goals to lead the the Trinity College Bantams to a 2-1 win over the visiting Connecticut College Camels in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's ice hockey action this afternoon at Kingswood-Oxford Rink.
Trinity improves to 1-5 overall and in the NESCAC with its first win of the season and the first in the career of rookie Head Coach Andrew McPhee. The Camels drop to 1-2-3 overall and 1-1-2 in the league.
Junior net-minder Mimi McKinnon (Glen Cove, N.Y.) with 41 saves, while freshman Gabby Petrill (Greensburg, Pa.) made 37 saves for Connecticut College. McPhee was happy with his team’s effort, stating, "The girls played hard for 60 minutes and the puck finally bounced our way. I am very proud of their work this weekend."
