TRINITY WOMEN’S ICE HOCKEY
LOSES AT BOWDOIN

Brunswick, Maine - Junior forward Gillian McDonald (Hudson, Quebec) had two goals and an assist to lead the Bowdoin College Polar Bears to a 9-1 win over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women’s ice hockey action this afternoon.  Trinity falls to 0-2 overall and in the NESCAC, while the Polar Bears improve to 2-0 overall and in the league.

McDonald broke free and scored an unassisted, short-handed goal at 3:37 of the first, but the Bantams bounced back to knot the game at 1-1 on a slap shot and the first career goal for freshman forward Tara Borawski (Simsbury, Conn.) at the 6:24 mark.

The second frame saw six Polar Bears goals put the game out of reach.  Junior tri-captain Mimi MacKinnon (Glen Cove, N.Y.) and freshman Courtney Bergh (West Pennington, N.J.) shared goalkeeping duties for Trinity with 47 saves between them.
