TRINITY WOMEN担 ICE HOCKEY TOPS SALVE REGINA

West Hartford, Conn. - Sophomore Jillian Nelsen (Albany, N.Y.) had four goals and two assists to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 7-4 victory over the visiting Salve Regina University Seahawks in women's ice hockey action this evening at Kingswood-Oxford Rink. With the win Trinity improves to 6-13 overall while the Seahawks slip to 4-15 on the season.

Nelsen opened the scoring at the 6:18 mark of the first period with help from freshman forward Michelle O誰eil (Westwood, Mass.), who finished the game with two goals and two assists, and senior captain Jessica Martin (Fort Myers, Fla.). Nelsen would add an unassisted power play goal at 16:55 of the first, before netting her third score at the 18:22 mark with an assist from senior assistant captain Kate Heney (Montpelier, Vt.).

After a pair of scores from O誰eil, and one from junior Katelyn Bowman (Summit, N.J.), Nelsen added one final tally at the 19:38 mark of the third period. Salve Regina was led by freshman Meaghan Toland (Manchester, N.H.) who had a pair of goals.

Freshman Michelle O誰eil (Westwood, Mass.) added two goals and two assists in the victory. Sophomore Mimi MacKinnon (Glen Cove, N.Y.) picked up 11 saves in net over two periods, while freshman Michelle Bovard (Pasadena, Calif.) had 3 saves after taking over to begin the third period. Freshman Kristin Suslowicz (Stoughton, Mass.) stopped 46 shots for the Seahawks.
