KURTZ KEEPS TRINITY WOMEN'S ICE HOCKEY

IN SEASON-ENDING LOSS TO COLBY
Waterville, Maine - Freshman goaltender Blair Kurtz (Encino, Calif.) made 41 saves in a losing effort as the visiting Trinity College Bantams lost, 3-1, against the Colby College White Mules in the Eastern College Athletic Conference women's ice hockey regular season finale. Trinity ends the year with a 1-19-3 overall record and a 1-16-1 mark in the ECAC with their fourth straight loss. Colby finishes the regular season at 10-9-4 overall and 8-7-3 in the league.
After a scoreless first period in which Kurtz saved all 13 Colby shots fired upon her, the White Mules scored consecutive goals in the first six minutes of the second stanza. Senior forward Amy Bonnefond (Kent Hills, Maine) and junior forward Carrie Swiderski (Watertown, Conn.) each had a goal and an assist in the period for Colby.
Trinity cut the lead to 2-1 with 5:03 remaining in the second period on a goal by sophomore forward Katelyn Bowman (Summit, N.J.). Classmate Lindsay Peet (Stowe, Vt.) provided the Trinity assist on the shorthanded score.
Colby sophomore blue liner Jill Young (Edina, Minn.) extended the White Mule lead to 3-1 on a power play goal with 6:31 left in the game, and senior goalie Josie Chapman (Bristol, R.I.) kept the Bantams scoreless the rest of the way.
