TRINITY WOMEN'S ICE HOCKEY LOSES FOURTH STRAIGHT

Rochester, N.Y. - Freshman goaltender Elaine Vonderembse (Genoa, Ohio) made 20 saves to lead the Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers to a 4-1 win over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in Eastern College Athletic Conference women's ice hockey action this afternoon. The Bantams are now 0-4 overall and in the ECAC, while the Tigers are 1-0 overall and in the league with a win their season opener.

The Bantams got on the board first with a goal at the 10:33 mark of the opening period by freshman forward Samantha Lee (Hartsdale, N.Y.). Junior defensemen Kate Heney (Burlington, Vt.) and Jessica Martin (Fort Myers, Fla.) assisted on the goal. The Tigers responded with four straight goals, including the game-winner by Perry Foster (Rochester, N.Y.) with 34 seconds to go in the second period. Trinity freshman goalie Meredith MacKinnon (Glen Cove, N.Y.) stopped 40 shots for the Bantams.
