AUGSBURG BEATS TRINITY WOMEN'S ICE HOCKEYWest Hartford, Conn. - Senior forward Angie Rieger (Courtland, Minn.) had two goals and one assist to lead the visiting Augsburg College Auggies to a 5-0 win over the Trinity College Bantams in women's ice hockey action this afternoon. Trinity falls to 1-13-2 and is 1-9-1 in the ECAC with its sixth straight loss. The Auggies improve to 8-8 with their fourth consecutive win.
Augsburg outshot Trinity, 32-14. Junior forward Laura McGowan (Fridley, Minn.) added a goal and two assists, freshman forward Dottie Gilkerson (Somerset, Wis.) had three assists, and senior forward Amber Nadreau notched a goal and an assist for the Auggies. Trinity freshman goalie Blair Kurtz (Encino, Calif.) made 27 saves, while Augsburg sophomore goaltender Kristen Opalinski (Latrobe, Pa.) had 14 saves.
