TRINITY VARSITY EIGHTS SWEEP IN
SEASON OPENING RACES AT TUFTS

Medford, Mass.- The Trinity College men’s varsity eight crew edged its rival boat from the United States Coast Guard Academy by two seconds, and easily defeated the varsity eight crew from the Tulane University Green Wave in its season opening races this afternoon on Malden River.  The Bantam women took their season opening race against the boat from the Coast Guard Bears, coming in just one second ahead at 6:55.18.

The races, hosted by Tufts, were held despite rain, sleet, snow, and thunderstorms in the area.  Trinity boats also posted first-place finishes in the women’s novice eight race and women’s second novice eight race, while the Bantam men’s second novice eight won two races.
