GARGIULO LEADS TRINITY WOMEN'S
BASKETBALL PAST SUFFOLK

Hartford, Conn. - Freshman forward Jennifer Gargiulo (Boxborough, Mass.) had 19 points on six-out-of-10 field goal shooting, along with 16 rebounds and four assists to lead the Trinity College Bantams over the visiting Suffolk University Rams in women’s basketball action this evening at Ray Oosting Gymnasium. The win ups the Bantam record to 5-9, while Suffolk falls to 5-11.

Trinity got off to a fast start offensively, jumping out to a 20-6 lead in the first five minutes of action. Fueling this lead was senior captain Liz Bontempo (Granby, Mass.), who stepped back behind the arc to hit on four of five three pointers en route to 14 first half points. Suffolk soon cut the lead to single digits, but the Bantam attack was too strong, as sophomore center Rebecca Bell (Colorado Springs, Colo.), chipped in 17 points, and added eight rebounds and four assists. Sophomore guard Michelle McCaffrey (West Springfield, Mass.) notched a double double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while classmate Tracy Nesbit (Wellesley, Mass.) dished out a team high five assists, in addition to her seven points for the Bantams.

Leading Suffolk was sophomore forward Allison Fox (South Easton, Mass) who had 16 points in the loss.
