TRINITY WOMEN’S BASKETBALL DROPS
FOURTH IN NESCAC AT MIDDLEBURY

Middlebury, Vt. – Sophomore forward Alexis Hollinger (New London, N.H.) tallied team-highs of 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Middlebury College Panthers to a 56-48 win over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women’s basketball action this afternoon.  Trinity falls to 4-9 overall and 0-4 in the NESCAC, while the Panthers improve to 9-5 overall and 2-1 in the league

Trinity trailed by as many as 13 points in the second half, cutting the Panther lead to four points on two occasions but could get no closer.  The Bantams held Middlebury to 32.3 percent field goal shooting, but were outrebounded, 47-39, and committed 19 turnovers.

Trinity sophomore forward Michelle McCaffrey (West Springfield, Mass.) scored a game-high 19 points, making nine out of 11 shots from the field, and added eight rebounds, while classmate Rebecca Bell (Colorado Springs, Colo.) notched 16 points and six boards, and freshman forward Jennifer Gargiulo (Boxborough, Mass.) pulled down 14 rebounds.  Senior tri-captain forward Wesley Hyatt (Amesbury, Mass.) had 17 points and five rebounds for the Panthers.
