BAD FIRST HALF SINKS TRINITY WOMEN'S HOOPS
IN OPENER AT WILLIAMS TIP-OFF

Williamstown, Mass.- Senior co-captain guard Kate Stumpo (Walpole, Mass.) scored 16 points with eight rebounds and five assists to lead the Williams College Ephs to an 88-55 win over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in the opening round of the Williams Tip-Off Tournament this evening. Trinity falls to 0-1 and will play Mount Ida tomorrow afternoon in the consolation game. The Ephs will face Bates College in the title game tomorrow, after Bates trounced Mount Ida, 105-55, in the other first round contest.

Trinity sophomore swing player Michelle McCaffrey (Springfield, Mass.) led all scorers with 21 points and added five rebounds, but Trinity made just seven out of 22 field goal attempts in the first half to fall behind, 41-21, at the intermission. Bantam senior center Kate McCloskey (Uxbridge, Mass.) had a team-high eight rebounds but scored just four points to bring her career mark to 996. Trinity freshman Kerri Stumpo (Walpole, Mass.), the younger sister of today's Eph star, debuted with eight points off the bench.
