MCCAFFREY LEADS TRINITY WOMEN’S
BASKETBALL OVER HUNTER
Trinity used a 19-3 run midway through the first half to take a 26-8 lead and went into halftime ahead, 34-19. Senior guard Alison Hadden (Drexel Hill, Pa.) scored all of her season-high 15 points in the first half, and the Bantams forced 18 Hawk turnovers over the first twenty minutes.
Hunter came out strong in the second half, cutting the lead to seven at 38-31 with 14;50 remaining on a jumper by sophomore center Tania Blanco (Bronx, N.Y.). The Bantams scored eight out of the next 10 points and eventually pulled ahead by 18 points at 58-40 with three minutes left to play.
Trinity senior forward came off the bench to join McCaffrey and Hadden in double figures with a season-high 15 points, while Hadden also dished out seven assists and made three steals. Bantam senior co-captain guard Bridget Dullea (Longmeadow, Mass.) had 10 assists and junior center Kate McCloskey (Uxbridge, Mass.) pulled down nine boards. Sophomore forward Jen Agosto (Brooklyn, N.Y.) paced the Hawks with 12 points.
