CORBY POWERS TRINITY WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
TO UPSET WIN AT WESLEYAN

Middletown, Conn. - Junior forward McKenzie Corby (Bethel, Conn.) scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 62-52 win over the Wesleyan University Cardinals in New England Small College Athletic Conference women's basketball action this afternoon. Trinity improves to 7-13 overall and 2-5 in the NESCAC with its second win in two days. The Cardinals fall to 12-7 and 2-5 in the league with their third consecutive loss.

The Trinity defense won the game for the Bantams in the first half, holding the Cardinals to six field goals in 26 attempts for a 23.1 percentage. The Bantams led, 32-15, at halftime only to have the lead dwindle to two points at 49-47 with five minutes to play. Trinity made nine out of 12 free throws the rest of the way, and 24 out of 28 for the game, to hold on to the win and keep alive its hopes of qualifying for the NESCAC Championship tournament.

Corby played all 40 minutes and sank all 12 of her foul shots and sophomore center Kate McCloskey (Uxbridge, Mass.) tallied 14 points and eight rebounds for Trinity. Bantam senior guard Jackie Siscone (Hammonton, N.J.) had 14 points, including three three-pointers and five out of six shots from the foul line. Corby, McCloskey, and junior guard Bridget Dullea (Longmeadow, Mass.) scored 12 of trinity's final 13 points. Sophomore forward Kamica Lewis (Jamaica Hills, N.Y.) was the only double-digit scorer for Wesleyan with 13 points and 14 boards.
