TRINITY WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

LOSES CLOSE GAME TO TUFTS

Hartford, Conn.- Sophomore forward Emily Goodman (Briarcliff, N.Y.) scored 14 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the visiting Tufts University Jumbos to a 53-50 win over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference women’s basketball action this evening. Trinity falls to 5-9 and 0-3 in the NESCAC with its fifth consecutive loss, while the Jumbos improve to 10-4 and 1-1 in the league with their second straight win.

Trinity rebounded from a 29-20 halftime deficit, and missed a chance to take the lead in the final minute when junior guard Bridget Dullea (Longmeadow, Mass.) missed a fastbreak lay-up. The Bantams held Tufts to 30 percent field goal shooting in the second half.

Sophomore center Kate McCloskey (Uxbridge, Mass.) returned from a leg injury which forced her to miss one game, and totaled a team-high 16 points and 16 rebounds for Trinity. Bantam senior guard Jackie Siscone (Hammonton, N.J.) and sophomore reserve guard Shannon Herold (Downers Grove, Ill.) each had 10 points.
