DULLEA LEADS TRINITY WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TO
TWELFTH STRAIGHT DEFEAT OF COAST GUARD
New London, Conn. - Junior forward Bridget Dullea (Longmeadow, Mass.) scored 20 points, including the Bantams' final 15 of the game, to lead visiting Trinity College to a 58-52 win over the United States Coast Guard Academy Bears in womens basketball action this evening.
Trinity, which ends a two-game losing streak, evens its season mark at 2-2, while the Bears lose their second game in a row to fall to 1-2. The Bantams have not lost to Coast Guard since 1988-89, winning the last 12 meetings.
Dullea scored all Trinity's points in the final 9:09 of the game to go along with six rebounds. Sophomore center Kate McCloskey (Uxbridge, Mass.) matched Dullea with 20 points, sinking 10 of 15 shots from the field, and grabbed nine boards for the Bantams. Dullea, McCloskey, and senior guard Jackie Siscone (Hammonton, N.J.) each played all 40 minutes of the game. Siscone scored seven points and totaled a career-high 13 assists.
Sophomore forward Tessa Mueller (Torrington, Conn.) paced Coast Guard with 16 points and dished out six assists. Freshman forward Tanesha Tyrus (Dale City, Va.) had nine points and eight rebounds off the bench for the Bears, including a turnaround in the lane that cut the Trinity lead to six at 55-49 with 40 seconds remaining.
