SISCONE THREE GIVES TRINITY WOMEN’S
HOOPS VICTORY OVER CLARK

Hartford, Conn.- Senior guard Jackie Siscone (Hammonton, N.J.) made a three-pointer from the top of the key with 2.8 seconds remaining in the game to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 69-67 win over the visiting Clark University Cougars in women’s basketball action this afternoon. Trinity, which last played on Dec. 9, evens its season mark at 4-4, while Clark falls to 5-7 with its third straight loss.

With the Bantams trailing 67-66 with four seconds left, Trinity junior guard Bridget Dullea (Longmeadow, Mass.) inbounded the ball directly to a wide-open Siscone at the top of the key. Siscone turned and made a long three-pointer with 2.8 seconds left, and Clark’s last second three-point attempt bounced off the backboard and the rim before falling to the floor to give Trinity the win.

The game was tied at 34 at the half as Clark scored six unanswered points in the closing minute to pull even. The Cougars maintained a slim lead for the majority of the second hald until Bantam sophomore guard Shannon Herold (Downers Grove, Ill.) sank a 15-foot jumper with 7:07 left to give Trinity a 54-53 lead.

Clark sophomore guard Rachel Turkington (Holland, Mass.) gave the lead back to the Cougars at 65-62 with a three-pointer from the right corner with 1:50 remaining. Trinity junior forward Angela Iandioli (Worcester, Mass.), playing in her first game of the season after spending the fall semester studying abroad, scored a layup to give Trinity a 66-65 advantage in the final minute. Clark answered immediately on a put-back by junior forward Elissa Larrivee (Westford, Mass.) to set up Siscone’s game-winner.

Dullea and sophomore center Kate McCloskey (Uxbridge, Mass.) paced Trinity in scoring with 16 points each, and Dullea added a career-high 11 assists. Junior guard McKenzie Corby (Bethel, Conn.), also returning from a semester abroad, added 12 points and five rebounds and Siscone totaled six points and six assists for the Bantams.
