TRENKLE LEADS BOWDOIN WOMEN'S HOOPS TO WIN AT TRINITY

Hartford, Conn. - Freshman forward Lora Trenkle (Surry, Maine) scored a team-high 20 points to lead the visiting Bowdoin College Polar Bears to a 75-66 win over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference women's basketball action this afternoon. Trinity finishes the season at 7-15 overall and 2-7 in the NESCAC with its second loss in two days. The Polar Bears finish the regular season at 16-7 and 7-2 in the league.

Bowdoin outscored Trinity, 36-24, in the first half thanks to 55 percent shooting from the field. Trinity matched the Polar Bears by sinking 55 percent of its field goal attempts in the second half, but fell short on the scoreboard. Bowdoin outrebounded Trinity, 37-30.

Trenkle made eight out of 12 shots from the field to total 20 points in just 26 minutes for Bowdoin. Sophomore forward Kristi Royer (Lewiston, Maine) tallied 17 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, while classmate Jessie Mayol (Westbrook, Maine) had 15 points and nine assists for the Polar Bears.

Junior guard Bridget Dullea (Longmeadow, Mass.) paced Trinity with 21 points, making nine out 16 shots from the field. Sophomore center Kate McCloskey (Uxbridge, Mass.) notched 20 points and six boards, sinking 10 out 13 of her field goal attempts, while senior guard Jackie Siscone (Hammonton, N.J.) scored eight points and dished out eight assists in her final collegiate game for the Bantams.
