TRINITY DOWNS HAMILTON IN FINAL
NESCAC SEEDING WEEKEND
Middlebury, Vt.- Sophomore outside hitter Kate Hunter (Ross, Calif.) notched 18 kills to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 3-2 win over the Hamilton College Continentals in one of three New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) volleyball matches this weekend at Middlebury College. Trinity also lost a pair of 3-0 decisions against the Middlebury College Panthers and the Williams College Ephs this weekend, dropping its overall record to 10-14 and finishing the league season at 4-6.
Senior co-captain setter Christine Horton (San Marino, Calif.) totaled 36 assists and five kills, and freshman outside hitter Lucy Hollis (Mount Kisco, N.Y.) registered 17 kills and three aces against Hamilton. Trinity came back from a 2-1 deficit to take the final two games, 30-20, and 15-13.
Middlebury narrowly defeated Trinity, 33-31, and 32-30, in the first two games before recording a 30-19 win in the clincher. Hollis had a team-high, 14 kills in the match. Hollis added seven kills and two aces in the Williams match, and Horton contributed 20 assists. Williams is ranked No.5 in New England.
