TRINITY VOLLEYBALL FALLS
TO AMHERST IN LEAGUE OPENER

West Hartford, Conn.- Sophomore setter Annie Hoeksma (Los Angeles, Calif.) totaled 28 assists and four kills to lead the Amherst College Lady Jeffs to a 3-0 win over the Trinity College Bantams in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) volleyball opener for both teams this evening at Connecticut College. Trinity falls to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the NESCAC, while Amherst improves to remains undefeated at 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the league. The Bantams will face Tufts and host Connecticut College tomorrow to complete the first of three league quad matches this fall. In the quad match's other contests, Tufts and Wesleyan each blanked Connecticut College by 3-0 scores.

Trinity College sophomore outside hitter Kate Hunter (Ross, Calif.) had five kills and six blocks in a losing effort, while freshman outside hitter Lucy Hollis (Mt. Kisco, N.Y.) added 10 kills while senior co-captain setter Christine Horton (San Marino, Calif) dished out 13 assists.
