TRINITY VOLLEYBALL SALVAGES WESLEYAN WEEKEND WITH WIN OVER MOUNT HOLYOKE
Middletown, Conn. - Junior setter Christine Horton (San Marino, Calif.) totaled 23 digs, and 110 assists as the Trinity College Bantams posted a 1-2 record in the Wesleyan Invitational Volleyball Tournament this weekend. The Bantams lost to the host Wesleyan Cardinals, 3-1, and to the Smith College Pioneers, 3-0, but finished the weekend with a 3-0 win over the Mount Holyoke College Lyons. Trinity is now 8-7 for the season.
Against Wesleyan, which was ranked No. 5 in New England, on Friday, Sept. 28, Trinity freshman Katherine Hunter (Ross, Calif.) had 14 kills and 11 digs and senior Kristin Hagan (Kentfield, Calif.) added seven kills and a team-high 17 digs in a losing effort. Hagan added 10 kills and nine digs against Smith, and erupted for 17 kills and 21 digs versus Mount Holyoke. Horton had eight digs and 48 assists in the Mount Holyoke match, while Hunter made 16 kills and 11 digs for the Bantams.
