TRINITY VOLLEYBALL COMPETES
IN FINAL NESCAC QUAD
Medford, Mass.- Freshman outside hitter Katherine Hunter (Ross, Calif.) totaled 58 kills and 37 digs in four matches as the Trinity College Bantams won one out of three matches in the third and final New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Volleyball Quad Match this weekend at Tufts University.
Trinity defeated Connecticut College, 3-0, in its second match on Friday night after losing, 3-1, against Amherst. The Bantams were blanked, 3-0, by Wesleyan and Tufts on Saturday. The Bantams are now 11-12 overall and finish 5-5 in the NESCAC, which places them in seventh place in the final league regular season standings. All three of Trinty's defeats came at the hands of regionally-ranked opponents, as Wesleyan is the No. 3 team in new England, Amherst is No. 5 and Tufts is No. 6.
Trinity senior co-captain middle blocker Beth Landry (Troy, Mich.) had 35 kills, 18 digs, and eight blocks for the weekend, while classmate Kristin Hagan (Kentfield, Calif.) totaled 38 kills, 23 digs, and six blocks and junior setter Christine Horton (San Marino, Calif.) recorded 129 assists. In the win over Connecticut College, freshman setter Justyn Bellsey (San Francisco, Calif.) had a career-high 16 assists and Hunter served up seven aces.
