TRINITY BEATS ROGER WILLIAMS IN COAST GUARD
CLASSIC VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

New London, Conn.- Freshman outside hitter Katherine Hunter (Ross, Calif.) totaled 64 kills and 30 digs in three matches as the Trinity College Bantams won one out of three matches in the Coast Guard Classic Volleyball Tournament this today.

Trinity defeated sandwiched a 3-1 win over Roger Williams between a pair of 3-1 defeats against Wesleyan and the host Guard Bears. The Bantams fall to 12-15 for the season. Wesleyan, which was ranked No. 3 in New England entering the tournament, won the tournament with three wins to improve to 25-3, while Coast Guard went 2-1 to improve to 19-5 and roger Williams was winless to fall to 14-16.

Trinity gave a spirited effort against Wesleyan, losing its three games, 30-27, 31-29, and 30-27. Hunter, who made the All-Tournament team, notched 23 kills, nine digs, five aces, and three blocks in the win over Roger Williams, while senior co-captain middle blocker Beth Landry (Troy, Mich.) had 35 kills, 25 digs, 13 aces, and 16 blocks in the three matches and junior setter Christine Horton (San Marino, Calif.) recorded 144 assists on the day.
