Amherst, Mass. - Senior co-captain middle blocker Beth Landry (Troy, Mich.) totaled 37 kills, 54 digs, and 16 blocks to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 2-2 record in the Amherst College Classic Volleyball Invitational this weekend. Trinity moves to 7-4 for the season.

The Bantams opened the tournament with a 3-1 loss to MIT. Landry led the Bantams with 12 kills and 14 digs, followed closely by teammate and fellow senior co-captain Molly Roach (Salt Lake City, Utah) with 10 kills. Senior outside hitter Kristin Hagan (Kentfield, Calif.) was the leader in digs with 16, and freshman setter Justyn Bellsey (San Francisco, Calif.) had a career-high 30 assists.

Later on Friday, Trinity evened their tournament record with a win over Western Connecticut. Hagan chipped in 17 kills to go with nine digs, while junior setter Christine Horton (San Marino, Calif.) had 49 assists in the win.

Trinity opened play on Saturday with a tough, 3-2 loss to Gordon College. Landry had a team-high 20 digs and 14 kills, and Horton once again added a solid performance with a career-high 50 assists.

In its final game of the tournament, Trinity swept three games from league rival Colby College. Freshman outside hitter Kate Hunter (Ross, Calif.) had 15 kills and seven digs to go with four blocks, while sophomore middle blocker Carolyn Walker (Winston-Salem, N.C.) and Roach added 10 digs each. Hagan finished up a strong tournament with 11 kills and 11 digs.

Landry was named as a to the All-Tournament’s Second Team, and Horton finished with a team-high assist total of 130 for the four matches.
