TRINITY BEATS WESLEYAN AMD ROGER WILLIAMS
IN THE COAST GUARD VOLLEYBALL TOURNEY
New London, Conn.- Freshman Imnett Habtes (St. Thomas, V.I.) totaled 24 kills and six blocks to lead the Trinity College Bantams to wins over the Wesleyan University Cardinals and the Roger Williams University Hawks at the Unitede States Coast Guard Academy Volleyball Tournament this afternoon. The Bantams are now 13-14 and have won five of their last seven matches.
Trinity downed NESCAC rival Wesleyan for the first time in three tries this season, 3-1, in its first match of the day and recovered from 2-1 game deficit to defeat Roger Williams, 3-2, in its second match. Coast Guard blanked the tired Bantams, 3-0, in the third match.
Against Wesleyan, sophomore Isabelle Krusen (Tampa, Fla.) paced Trinity with 22 digs, while junior co-captain Kristin Hagan (San Francisco, Calif.) notched a team-high 14 kills. Freshman Su-Layne Walker (St. Thomas, V.I.) had 10 digs and five assists off the bench and junior Beth Landry (Troy, Mich.) added 13 kills and five blocks against the Hawks.
