TRINITY SOFTBALL SUFFERS TWO SHUTOUTS
ON LAST DAY OF FLORIDA GAMES

Fort Myers, Fla. - Freshman right-hander Karyn Wieland (McHenry, Ill.) tossed a three-hit, shutout to lead the Grinnell College Pioneers to a 7-0 win over the Trinity College Bantams in the Gene Cusic Softball Classic at Lee County Sports Complex this afternoon. Trinity, which dropped a 5-0 decision against New England College earlier in the day, finishes its spring trip with a 3-6-1 record and a three-game losing skid. New England College improved to 5-2 and Grinnell jumped to 6-1 with the victories.

Bantam freshman pitcher Sarah Churchill (Danvers, Mass.) threw five innings of scoreless relief against New England College, but Trinity could not rally back from a 5-0 deficit. Churchill went the distance against the Pioneers to drop to 3-2. Bantam sophomore catcher Sarah Hoyle (Ansonia, Conn.) threw out five potential basestealers in the Grinnell game.
