WILLIAMS BLANKS TRINITY SOFTBALL
Williamstown, Mass.- Freshman pitcher Liz Gluck (Wappinger Falls, N.Y.) allowed
five hits and no runs in a complete game shutout to lead the Williams College
Ephs to a 3-0 win over the Trinity College Bantams in softball action this
afternoon. Trinity drops to 3-17 and Williams improves to 14-10.
Trinity pitcher Lauren McDowell (Chilmark, Mass.) kept the Ephs guessing
through the first two innings, before two Eph singles and a two-run triple by
Eph sophomore 3B Kristen Massimiano (Pittsfield, Mass.). Massimiano would
score on the very next pitch when a heater from McDowell got away from Trinity
freshman catcher Sarah Hoyle (Ansonia, Conn.). Trinity had runners on
first and third with one out in the fifth inning on a single by Hoyle and a
double by junior infielder Maureen Heneghan (Windsor Locks, Conn.) but
failed to score. McDowell allowed two earned runs and five hits while walking
none despite the loss.
