HUNTER HURLS TRINITY SOFTBALL
TO WIN OVER WESLEYAN

Hartford, Conn. - Freshman right-hander Kate Hunter (Ross, Calif.) pitched a two-hit shutout with eight strikeouts and added a double and a single at the plate to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 6-0 win over the visiting Wesleyan University Cardinals in softball action this afternoon. Trinity improves to 7-20 and Wesleyan drops to 8-21-1 with its third straight loss.
Trinity scored a run in the first inning on a single and stolen base by junior 1B Maureen Heneghan (Windsor Locks, Conn.), a sacrifice bunt, and an RBI single by senior 2B Liz Bontempo (Granby, Mass.). The Bantams broke the game open with four runs in the bottom of the third frame, keyed by run-scoring singles by Bontempo, junior co-captain SS Laura Heath (Windsor, Conn.), and senior outfielder Clare Bullock (Columbia, S.C.).
