TRINITY SOFTBALL LOSES TWO DESPITE SOLID PITCHING

Fort Myers, Fla.- Freshman right-hander Marion Protano (Malalapan, N.J.) pitched a six-hitter in a losing effort, as the Trinity College Bantams dropped a 3-1 decision against the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth Corsairs in the Gene Cusic Collegiate Softball Classic this afternoon at the Lee County Sports Complex. Trinity, which also lost, 6-0, against the St. Lawrence University Saints, is now 1-7. Bantam sophomore righty Lauren McDowell (Chilmark, Mass.) went the distance on the mound against the Saints, allowing six hits.
