TRINITY SOFTBALL FALLS TO KEENE STATE AND WESLEYAN

Fort Myers, Fla.- Junior first baseman Maureen Heneghan (Windsor, Conn.) went 6-for-7 in two games, although the Trinity College Bantams lost, 12-2, against the Keene State College Owls and, 5-4, against the Wesleyan University Cardinals in softball action this evening. The games were played at the Lee County Sports Complex as part of the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic. Trinity drops to 1-5 and has lost four games in a row.

Heneghan had three hits in three at-bats in the first game, but the Owls scored seven runs in the first inning and never trailed. In the Bantams’ second game, Heneghan had three hits, and freshman catcher Sarah Hoyle (Ansonia, Conn.) added a single and a double. The Cardinals scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, including an unearned run to win the game.
