TRINITY SOFTBALL SPLITS WITH BATES

Hartford, Conn. - Sophomore Lauren McDowell (Chilmark, Mass.) pitched a three-hitter to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 4-1 win in the second game and a split in the doubleheader against the visiting Bates College Bobcats in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) East softball action this afternoon. Trinity is now 3-14 overall and 1-3 in the NESCAC East, while Bates is 2-11 overall and 1-1 in the league.

Junior Krissie Whiting (Contoocook, N.H.) matched McDowell with a three-hitter in the opening game for the Bobcats. Trinity scored three runs in the second inning of game two, taking advantage of five walks. Junior shortstop Laura Heath (Windsor, Conn.) had an RBI single in the first for Trinity.
