COLBY SOFTBALL SWEEPS TRINITY

Medford, Mass. - Freshman Amy Lisavich (Chelmsford, Mass.) and senior co-captain Stephanie Greenleaf (Gardiner, Maine) each tossed three-hitters on the mound to lead the Colby College White Mules to 9/3-1/1 sweep against the Trinity College Bantams in a New England Small College Athletic Conference East doubleheader this afternoon at Tufts University.

Trinity drops to 2-17 and 0-4 in the NESCAC East with four losses in two days, while the White Mules improve to 6-4 and 2-0 in the league despite playing their first games since March 29.

In the first game, Colby ran off six straight hits in a four-run fifth inning and five hits in a row in a three-run sixth inning. Lisavich helped herself offensively with two hits and two RBI. In the nightcap, Greenleaf outdueled Trinity freshman right-hander Lauren McDowell (Martha’s Vineyard, Mass.), who yielded just five hits. Colby freshman catcher Erica Ayotte (Chelmsford, Mass.) drove in two runs, while Trinity sophomore Susan Kelly (Milford, Mass.) knocked in the only Bantam run of the day with a second inning double.
