TRINITY SOFTBALL ENDS SPRING
BREAK TRIP WITH TWO DEFEATS

Winter Garden, Fla.- Sophomore right-hander Kristi McDermott (Barrington, R.I.) allowed one run and five hits over six innings as the Trinity College Bantams dropped a 1-0 decision to the Springfield College Pride in the Rebel Spring Games Softball Classic.

The Bantams also lost, 9-1, to the Elmhurst College Bluejays later in the day to finish the trip at 0-10. Springfield, ranked No. 20 in the nation, improves to 10-3 and Elmhurst moves 6-4 with its second win over the Bantams this season.

Springfield scored its only run in the bottom of the first inning and Pride senior pitcher Meg Kummerfeldt (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) tossed a three-hitter in the first game. Elmhurst pitcher Marla Amazzalorso (Chicago, Ill.) pitched a one-hitter and the Bantams made eight errors in the second game.
