Sports update, softball vs. Eastern Connecticut, 4/11/00
TRINITY SOFTBALL DOWNS EASTERN CONNECTICUT
Hartford, CT - Freshman righthander Kristi McDermott (Barrington, RI)
pitched a seven-hit, complete game to lead the Trinity College Bantams to an
8-3 win over visiting Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors in
softball action this afternoon. Trinity improves to 5-16 and the Warriors
fall to 11-10.
Trinity came back from a 2-0 deficit with four runs in the fourth
inning and three in the fifth. Freshman rightfielder Kelly Kempner
(Amherst, NY) smacked a two-RBI double in the to break a 2-2 tie in the
fourth. In the fifth, rookie centerfielder Laura Heath (Windsor, CT) had an
RBI double and freshman leftfielder Susan Kelly (Milford, MA) belted an RBI
single for Trinity. Bantam junior shortstop Tricia Mase (Northford, MA)
added an RBI single in the sixth inning.
Sophomore first baseman Andrea Rizzuto (Taftville, CT) homered for
Eastern Connecticut.
