Sports update, softball vs. Clark, 4/4/00

HOMERS POWER CLARK OVER TRINITY SOFTBALL

Hartford, CT - Sophomore second baseman Lynne Casey (Leominster, MA) bashed
a two-run homer in the top of the sixth inning to lead the visiting Clark
University Cougars to a 7-6 win over the Trinity College Bantams in softball
action this afternoon.  Trinity falls to 4-13 with its third straight loss.
Clark improves to 14-1.	
	Clark sophomore pitcher Holly Scavone (Worcester, MA) and junior
captain catcher Lynne Bachand (Worcester, MA) homered in the first inning to
give the Cougars a 4-0 lead.  Trinity got one run back in the bottom of the
first on an RBI single by senior catcher Caitlin Luz (Woburn, MA).  
	In the bottom of the fifth inning Luz came through again with a
two-RBI double as Trinity went ahead, 5-4.  Trinity junior third baseman
Brianna Stanton (Clive, IA) added two doubles and an RBI in the game.
