TRINITY MEN, BAK WIN AMHERST
INVITATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY MEET
Amherst, Mass. - Trinity College junior tri-captain Ryan Bak (Suffield, Conn.) finished first overall and led the Trinity College Bantams to a first-place finish as a team in the Amherst Men’s Cross Country Invitational Meet this afternoon. The Trinity women’s squad finished third as a team. The race was the first of the season for both the Trinity men’s and the women’s cross-country teams.
Trinity won the men’s meet with 27 points, 20 points ahead of second-place Amherst. Bantam junior tri-captain James Emord (Bridgewater, Mass.) finished third overall at 27:25 and classmate Ryan Lerner (Manchester, Conn.) came in fourth at 27:34. Freshman harrier James Sullivan (Sterling, Mass.) had a nice collegiate debut, finishing in 27:48 for seventh place.
The Bantam women totaled 85 points, 27 behind second-place Brandeis and 46 behind first-place Amherst. Junior Leanne Rheaume (Pittsfield, Mass.) was the top Trinity women’s finisher in fourth place at 19:23, while freshman Christina Kane (Springfield, Mass.) placed 10th at 20:05.
