MARKELZ EARNS ALL-AMERICAN AND TRINITY
MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY FINISHES 14TH AT NATIONALS

Spokane, Wash.- Senior co-captain Todd Markelz (Homer, Alaska) finished 28th overall with a time of 25:41.5 to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 14th-place finish at the NCAA Division III National Championships at Whitworth College this afternoon.

Trinity finished with 391 points, which was 14 behind 13th-place Kenyon College and 326 behind champion Calvin College. Markelz earned All-American honors for finishing among the top 30 individuals. Sophomores Ryan Bak (Suffield, Conn.) and James Emord (Bridgewater, Mass.) placed 46th and 47th, respectively for Trinity.
