TRINITY'S KANE AND SULLIVAN STAR
IN TRACK MEET AT SPRINGFIELD
Springfield, Mass.- Sophomore Christina Kane (Springfield, Mass.) won the 800- and the 1,500-meter runs and classmate James Sullivan (Sterling, Mass.) took first in the 10,000-meter run, as the Trinity College Bantams co-hosted and competed in the Springfield/Trinity Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Invitational this afternoon at Springfield College. The meet, originally scheduled for Fri., Apr. 4 at its annual location, Trinity's Jessee/Miller Field was moved to Springfield due to a problem with the track at Trinity and pushed back to Sunday due to rain on Friday. There were no team scores.
Senior tri-captain Leeann Rheaume (Pittsfield, Mass.) won the 5,000 meters for the Bantam women, while freshman Chris Orr (Hingham, Mass.) finished second in the 400-meter hurdles and fifth in the 110-meter hurdles for the Trinity men. Freshman Kristen Geiger (Canterbury, N.H.) came in second in the 100-meter dash and fourth in the 200 meters, and senior tri-captain Jim Emord (Bridgewater, Mass.) was third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase for the Bantams.
