BAK SETS YET ANOTHER TRINITY TRACK RECORD
AND QUALIFIES FOR NATIONALS IN BOSTON
Boston, Mass.- Junior men's tri-captain Ryan Bak (Suffield, Conn.) finished 12th overall in the 5,000-meter run, setting a new College record and qualifying for the NCAA Division III National Championships in March, as the Trinity College Bantams competed in the Boston University Terrier Classic Men's and Women's Track and Field Meet this afternoon at the Boston University Armory.
Bak finished the 5,000 meters in 14:35.3 7, breaking the previous mark of 14:40.97 held by Alex Magoun. Bak also ran a 4:14.94 in the 1,500 meters to finish 12th, while junior Josh Griffis (Templeton, Mass.) placed seventh in the shot put and senior Nick Fox (Dublin, N.H.) placed ninth in the weight throw for the Bantams. For the women's squad, senior tri-captain Lauren Young (Old Saybrook, Conn.) came in eighth place in the weight throw, and freshman Christina Kane (Springfield, Mass.) was 14th in the 1,500 meter run.
