BAK SETS TRINITY 3,000-METER RECORD
AT BRANDEIS TRACK INVITATIONAL
Waltham, Mass.- Junior men's tri-captain Ryan Bak (Suffield, Conn.) finished first overall in the 800-meter run and the 3,000-meter run, setting a new College record in the latter, as the Trinity College Bantams competed in the Brandeis University Men's and Women's Track and Field Invitational this afternoon at Gosman Sports Center. .
Bak finished the 800 meters in 2:00.07 and shattered his own Trinity 3,000-meter record of 8:43.29 by 13.46 seconds (8:29.82). Trinity junior Josh Griffis (Templeton, Mass.) won the shot put with a toss of 45'10.50", freshman Paris Farrell (Philadelphia, Pa.) placed second in the 55-meter dash at 6.73, and senior Nick Fox (Dublin, N.H.) came in second in the weight throw at 45'05.00".
For the women's squad, freshman Christina Kane (Springfield, Mass.) finished second in the 1,000 meters at 3:04.32 and third in the 1,500 meters at 4:45.09. Both were the top times for a Trinity runner in the event this season and career-highs for Kane. Sophomore Kristina DePeau (Stafford, Conn.) finished second in the 5,000-meter run at 18:26.05.
