2000-01 Men's Track and Field Outlook |
A 13th-place finish at the 2000 New England Track and Field Championships highlighted another strong year for the men's squad. Headed by a talented core of seniors, the Bantams will need to replace 2000 New England Division III decathlon champion Ben Goss who graduated.
The Bantam coaching staff has high expectations for senior co-captain Todd Markelz, and All-New England and All-NESCAC selection, and sophomore Ryan Bak, who qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships in the indoor season, in the distance events.
Other solid veterans include senior Oliver Page (pole vault), juniors Nick Fox (shot, discus, and hammer), Sam Sonn (long jump, triple jump) and Josh Griffis (shot put), and sophomores David Wilson (long jump, triple jump) and James Emord (distance).
