TRINITY MEN PLACE 12TH AT DIVISION III
NEW ENGLAND INDOOR TRACK CHAMPIONSHIPS
Medford, Mass.- Freshman sprinter James Porter (New Haven, Conn.) finished third in the 55-meter dash with a personal and team season-best time of 6.33 to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 12th-place finish in the NCAA Division III New England Men's Indoor Track Championships this afternoon at Tufts University.
Porter was named All-New England, along with Trinity sophomore Ryan Bak (Suffield, Conn.) and senior co-captain Todd Markelz (Homer, Alaska). Bak finished fourth in the mile run with a time of 3:58.24 and Markelz placed sixth in the 5,000-meter run at 15:10.80. Bak was an All-New England selection last winter, and Markelz has twice been an All-New England selection as part of the Bantam distance medley relay team in his career.
