TRINITY MEN FALL TO WPI IN THE POOL
Hartford, Conn.- Junior Jesse Hammond (New London, Conn.) won the 50-yard freestyle and the 200-yard butterfly in a losing effort, as the Trinity College Bantams dropped a 111-103 decision against the visiting Worcester Polytechnic Institute Engineers in men’s swimming action this afternoon. Trinity finishes the dual season with an 0-10 record.
Hammond also teamed with senior captain Christian Sterling (Glastonbury, Conn.), fellow junior Chris Rorer (Villanova, Pa.) and freshman Matt DeRosa (Setauket, N.Y.) to win the 200-yard medley relay. Sterling added a first-place performance in the 1,00-yard free, Rorer won the 200-yard breaststroke, and DeRosa took first in the 200-yard freestyle for the Bantams.
