TRINITY WOMEN'S SWIMMING EDGES CLARK ON FINAL RELAY

Hartford, Conn.- Sophomores Julia Kaye (Upper Saddle River, N.J.)
won two individual events and swam a leg of the first-place 400-yard
freestyle relay squad to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 123-119 win
over the visiting Clark University Cougars in women's swimming and diving
action this afternoon.  The Bantam men fell to the Cougars, 118-91.  The
Trinity women finish the regular season with a 3-7 record, while the men
drop to 0-9.

The Clark women held a 115-112 lead with just the 400-yard freestyle
relay race remaining in the meet.  Kaye teamed with sophomore Caroline
Molitor (Berwyn, Pa.) and freshmen Elizabeth Ramaley (Old Greenwich, Conn.)
and Brianne Barrett (Haverhill, Mass.) to win the race with a time of
3:56.15.  Also, the Bantam foursome of senior co-captain Lydia Barrett
(Haverhill, Mass.), and sophomores Lauren Albrecht (East Lyme, Conn.),
Kathryn Youngberg (Cheshire, Conn.), and Aynslie Accomando (Andover, Mass.)
placed third in the race, giving Trinity 13 out of a possible 17 points in
the event and a narrow victory in the meet.  Kaye also finished first in the
1,650-yard freestyle in 18:39.74 and the 500-yard free in 5:32. 05, while
Molitor won the 50-yard freestyle in 27.03.

For the Bantam men, junior Jesse Hammond (New London, Conn.) took
first in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyles, while the 400-yard freestyle
relay quartet of senior Michael Tobin (Upper Montclair, N.J.), juniors
Maurice Lee (Wayne, Pa.) and Ryan Bares (New Hartford, Conn.) and freshman
Mark Silva (Scarsdale, N.Y.) also emerged victorious.
